This territory is within the lands honoured by the Wampum Treaties; agreements between the Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, Lenni Lenape and allied Nations to peacefully share and care for the resources around the Great Lakes. Specifically, we would like to acknowledge the presence of the Three Fires Confederacy Ojibwe, Odawa, Potawatomi and Huron/Wendat Peoples. We are dedicated to honouring Indigenous history and culture while remaining committed to moving forward respectfully with all First Nations, Inuit and Métis.

There is no pecuniary interest declared by a Member of Council.

The purpose of the meeting is to hear public comment on a Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendment applications for a 3.2 acre parcel of land situated on the west side of Malden Road, approximately 252 feet south of its intersection with North Talbot Road, 5881 Malden Road.

In response to an inquiry on the future development of a commercial node located north of the proposed residential lots, the Manager Planning Services advised that there is currently no proposal submitted to the Town on the property however the Town's Zoning By-Law permits a commercial development on the property.

A Member inquires on the residential properties which are on the septic systems and the timeline for future connection of municipal services.  The Director Public Works & Engineering Services explains that municipal sanitary sewers are not scheduled until 2040.

Discussion ensues on municipal services and connection fees to the affected landowners in this area and a request to relay to new landowners in this area that this area will be connected to municipal services in the future.
