The Mayor calls the meeting to order at 5:30 pm.

There is no pecuniary interest declared by a Member of Council.

The purpose of the meeting is to hear the proposed Zoning By-law amendment application to rezone a 1.0 hectare (2.4 acre) property situated on the south side of North Talbot Road, approximately 40 metres (130 feet) east of its intersection with Hennin Drive at 3455 North Talbot Road, from “Industrial Zone (M1)” to a site-specific “Business Park Zone (BP)”  in order to permit the addition of general/business offices, professional offices, union hall, restaurants, craft industries/specialty workshops and retail sales as permitted uses. In addition, the proposed site-specific BP Zone will establish site specific yard and lot requirements. The subject property is designated “Business Park” in the Sandwich South Official Plan.

The Manager Planning Services outlines the details of the subject property and surrounding land uses. He indicates that the building of the former offices of Sandwich South resides on the property. He describes the the proposed rezoning classification and the types of commercial uses that would be permitted. He notes that there will be a Site Plan Control agreement to ensure proper storm water management be installed.

The next step in the planning process is to present Council with a draft Zoning By-law Amendment as well as a By-law deeming the lands subject to Site Plan Control at an upcoming regular meeting.

Councillor Dowie arrives at the meeting at 5:38 pm.
