The Mayor calls the meeting to order at 6:19 pm.

Reporting Out of In Camera Meeting

An electronic In-Camera meeting was held earlier this afternoon at 5:00 pm in accordance with Section 239 (2) (b) (c) (h) (i) (j) and (k) of the Municipal Act, 2001, if the subject matter being considered is:

• personal matters about an identifiable individual, including municipal or local board employees
• a proposed or pending acquisition or disposition of land by the municipality;
• information explicitly supplied in confidence to the municipality or local board by Canada, a province or territory or a Crown agency of any of them;
• a trade secret or scientific, technical, commercial, financial or labour relations information, supplied in confidence to the municipality or local board, which, if disclosed, could reasonably be expected to prejudice significantly the competitive position or interfere significantly with the contractual or other negotiations of a person, group of persons, or organization;
• a trade secret or scientific, technical, commercial or financial information that belongs to the municipality or local board and has monetary value or potential monetary value; or
• a position, plan, procedure, criteria or instruction to be applied to any negotiations carried on or to be carried on by or on behalf of the municipality or local board.

At the meeting, the Members received advice from the Town’s Legal Counsel on a potential litigation, considered personal information about identifiable persons, and provided direction to administration on a potential land acquisition.

LCS-2021-33 Committee and Board Appointments - 2022

The Director Legislative Services & Clerk highlights the Committee and Board appointments. It is noted that the Tecumseh Accessibility Advisory Committee must adhere to legislative requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) regarding the composition of committee members. The unsuccessful applicant to the TAAC will be advised of the composition requirements under the AODA and invited to attend meeting of the Committee.

  That the three applications to the Business Improvement Area (BIA) Board of Management from Travis Dorner, Sandra Zanet and Eddy Hammoud, be accepted; 

  And that Councillor Brian Houston and Councillor Andrew Dowie continue their appointment to the BIA Board.

  And further that the terms of their appointments to the Board be for the remaining term of Council, ending November 14, 2022, or until such time as new members are appointed.

LCS-2021-34 2021 Award Nominations

The Mayor comments on the COVID-19 pandemic and that residents are being careful which could reflect in the lack of nominations. Direction is given to Administration to Call for Nominations again to invite nominations for these Awards.
